happy® xmas trees 2010

The gift of culture

For Christmas 2010, the streets and walkways of Copenhagen will feature unique Christmas tree sculptures, designed and decorated by Danish and international artists and designers.

The public nature of the event

The grandest Christmas-event for the city of Copenhagen in 2010 will be happy® xmas trees, a large scale art/design & culture exhibition of custom designed fibreglass Christmas trees that, with their own unique, humorous and creative looks, shapes and decorations will put their own mark on the plazas, streets and squares of Copenhagen during Christmas 2010.
To paraphrase, we will be transforming Copenhagens public areas into Scandinavias largest art gallery.

Planet Earths environment -event & auction – turning art into sustainability

First and foremost, the event happy® xmas trees is about art and culture. Once Copenhagen, the Danes and any other possible patron have enjoyed, processed and debated the joyous message of the event, happy® xmas trees Copenhagen 2010 will be finalized with a proper send-off and an associated auction where the trees will be sold to the highest bidders. The full profit of this auction will be donated to the charitable cause which has been selected for this year, the planting of CO2 neutralizing Jatropha forests in Mali, Africa.

Said about happy® xmas trees

"happy® xmas trees is an unique and innovative way of bringing cultures together. Successful cultural integrations is conditioned by the ability to see common denominators over differences. Happy® xmas trees is helping us focus on the common denominators. This project not only advances the cultural integration, it is also one of the solutions to a global environmental issue; it is a fantastic event for culture, and it advances sustainable business growth in some of the worlds poorest countries. This is as good as they get. I recommend this project to you most cordially."
