| The white unfnished glassfiber tree was delivered to the hospital section which was big amazement to both children and adults. “Is that our Christmas tree this year?” “It is realy big, shall we paint it?” Where will it be placed afterwoods?” Many questions and talks about the exhibition. “When will we start painting it?” “Can I be a part of it?” The tree was placed in front of the lifts, where many people hop on and of the lifts, and we were met with many different facialexpressions, while we were standing there being artistic with paint, brushes and odd figures on the tree. The children started by making bubbles in various colours and then chose which bubble they wanted to express them in. They chose colours and motifs. Hereafter the tree was painted purple around the bubbles and was drawn with black brushstrokes. We had to tip the tree in order to reach the top. When all the children had finished their shape, we found things we could glue on the tree, so it, in the end, was a true bubbly Experience Tree. |
Many children and young ones between the age of 1-17 have participated in painting the tree. This includes hospitalized, outpatients and their siblings. It has been a project that gave food for thoughts and talks and everyone thought is was a realy good idea, firstly with the exhitbion and secondly with the charity aspect of planting trees in Mali, Africa. We all are looking forward to seeing the tree being a bubling part of the city somewhere. All the best from the children, young ones and grown ups from the children’s oncology department at Rigshospitalet. |
